Curtin Ties for 12th in Pole Vault at NCAA Championships

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Cooper Curtin represented Cal Lutheran men's track & field in the pole vault at the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships and tied for 12th on Friday morning.
Curtin, competing in the championships for the first time, cleared the starting height of 4.60 meters in his first try. The second height was 4.75m and he was up and over on his second attempte.
Cooper holds the Cal Lutheran record in pole vault at 4.90 meters, which was the next height. He was close, but was not able to clear the mark and tied for 12th.
The senior came into the championships ranked 18th in the nation. He moved six spots to conclude the track & field season on the national stage.
