Dear Cal Lutheran Students,

Beginning in late May, Cal Lutheran will start offering summer classes on our main campus and at our Woodland Hills and Oxnard campus. The following outlines protocols for in-person class attendance.

Negative COVID Test – If you are enrolled in a class that is meeting in person,  a pop‐up message in MyCLU will appear starting tomorrow asking you to submit a current COVID test.  All students will be required to submit a negative COVID test taken within 10 days of your first class.  This requirement applies even for vaccinated students (although we do expect that requirement to change prior to the next term).  Please plan for needing two days to receive your COVID test results.  Free testing is still readily available in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.

You can submit a picture of your COVID‐19 results or upload the document indicating the results through the pop‐up in MyCLU. Instructions will be provided in the pop-up. If you have difficulty with this, you can email provost@callutheran.edu.

If you test positive for COVID‐19, or if you tested positive for COVID‐19 within the last 90 days, please upload your result and also email COVID19reporting@callutheran.edu. You will be provided instructions on what to do next. You do not need to be tested until 90 days after a COVID‐19 diagnosis.

Required Daily Health Check and Building Access – You will need to fill out the Daily Health Check either in the MyCLU portal on the MyCLU mobile app each day that you come to campus.  All campus buildings are only accessible through card swipe, and although all students have been granted access to academic buildings at the various campuses, you will need to complete the Daily Health Check in order gain access.

Campus Compact – All students who have not already done so will also need to read and be familiar with the Campus Compact.  Additionally, all students will need to wear masks in class and follow the physically-distanced seating configured in each classroom.  Last, all students will be asked to step outside in the event they either need to eat or drink.

Parking and Starbucks– Parking restrictions will not be enforced over the summer at any Cal Lutheran campuses, although students are encouraged to obtain a parking sticker if they are attending classes at the Thousand Oaks campus.  Parking passes can be ordered on line here.  Also, during summer terms, Starbucks will be open from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM Monday through Thursdays and from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM Fridays.

We look forward to seeing you back on campus this summer! If you have any questions, you can send them to: provost@callutheran.edu.
